At least 52 people have been martyred and 45 others injured in a suicide blast near a procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in Mastung.

QUETTA: At least 52 people have been martyred and 45 others injured in a suicide blast near a procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Mastung district of Balochistan.

Mastung Assistant Commissioner said the explosion took place when people were gathering for an Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession near Madina Masjid at Alfalah Road. Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has strongly condemned the incident. He said all resources will be mobilized in the rescue operation. In a statement, he said terrorists have no religion. He said policy of zero tolerance is being pursued against terrorists.

He said we must follow and adopt the character of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) to overcome all the challenges. Speaking on the occasion, Minister For Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed mentioned that the theme of the Seerat Conference was chosen after consultations to seek input from religious scholars on how to address issues of poverty and inflation in light of Islamic teachings. He pointed out that Islam introduced the concept of a welfare state and emphasized the circulation of wealth. He said the last Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), is Rahmatul-Lil-Alameen, who taught us how to lead a dignified life.
