Maryam reviews preparations, security arrangements for Eidul Azha
LAHORE – A ban has been imposed on the disposal of animal waste and offal in canals and drains throughout Punjab, including Lahore, on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
In light of this, Section 144 was imposed to prohibit the unlawful dumping of animal waste in canals and drains, as well as the roasting of animal heads and feet during the Eid days. It was briefed that in Lahore, staff will visit households to collect animal waste in biodegradable bags, and after the sacrifices, city streets will be washed, treated with lime, and sprayed.
A comprehensive report on security arrangements at 2,600 mosques and 900 Eid venues, including Lahore, was presented. The meeting decided that CCTV cameras and walkthrough gates will be installed to monitor gatherings across the province.
