ISLAMABAD - The federal government is taking into account a suggestion to impose Federal Excise Duty on per kg sugar , Dunya News reported here on Thursday.
The suggestions of imposing the tax have been sent to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif; and the tax could be imposed by bringing changes to the tax law, sources said. It has been expected that Rs3 to Rs4 tax will be levied on per kg sugar. The advice has been prepared by Finance Minister, FBR chairman, and finance secretary.
