“I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch,” Carrey quipped during an interview with the Associated Press. The actor, known for his humor, also joked, “And, you know, it’s just… I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly.” This return marks a change from Carrey’s earlier statement in April 2022 when he hinted at retiring from acting. While promoting the secondmovie, he told Access Hollywood, “I’m being fairly serious. It depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink… I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break.”
