Section 144 has been imposed in eight cities of Punjab for three days
RAWALPINDI - The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for 8 days in the wake of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Heads of States Summit.
Section 144 has been imposed from October 10-17 taking security measures for SCO Summit, according to a Punjab Home Department spokesperson. Any form of public gathering, rally, protest, sit-in, demonstrations and similar activities are banned. Pillion riding, aerial firing, drone flying, use of laser lights and sport of pigeon flying have also been prohibited.The decision to impose Section 144 was taken on the request of district administration to ensure law and order and safety and security of citizens.
