In preparation for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest in Islamabad on November 24, the federal government has approved the deployment of additional security forces, including Rangers, Frontier Corps (FC), and police personnel from Punjab and Sindh.

The Ministry of Interior issued a written notification authorizing the deployment and granted special powers to Punjab Rangers and FC under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, to ensure law and order during the protest. A total of 4,000 Rangers personnel equipped with anti-riot gear and 5,000 FC personnel will assist Islamabad police, alongside two Deputy Inspectors General and 10 District Police Officers from Punjab, supported by 500 personnel.
Additionally, 2,000 officials from Sindh and Punjab Constabulary have been requested to join the operation. Anti-Riot CAT units will also be part of the deployment to manage the crowd. Reinforcements from Sindh Rangers, Punjab Rangers, and FC platoons will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow.
