Calling former chief justices of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry and Saqib Nisar a ‘blot’ on the country’s judicial system, Senior Sindh Minister and PPP leader Sharjeel Memon on Thursday said all facilities they both were presently enjoying must be withdrawn from them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sharjeel said that despite having grievances against the judiciary, the PPP never malign the institution. “However, all other parties did call the judiciary names.” Referring to the apex court’s verdict in the Sunni Ittehad Council’s reserved seats case that benefitted the PTI, Sindh minister said the PPP was not in favour of such decisions in which a party was given what it had not even asked for.
Supporting setting up of a constitutional court, Sharjeel said it would only do good and no harm. “Millions of cases are pending. The new court will help clear the backlog.”
