Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday rejected review petitions of Lamontana andMonal restaurants and retained its verdict for removing restaurants established in the National Park.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan had taken up a set of petitions moved by the Monal Group of Companies, the Capital View Point Restaurant , Sunshine Heights Ltd, and by Brig retired Falak Naz Bangash of the defence ministry.
The SC also withdrew its decision to give preference to lease for Monal restaurant and Lamontana restaurants some other places. The verdict said that Monal restaurant and Lamontana and other restaurants voluntarily ensured the top court to end the restaurants during the three months.According to the verdict of the court, the court declared that preference be given to restaurants established in the National park to other locations however the SC dropped its decision to give preference in leas procedure to restaurants.
