Varun Dhawan has clarified that his upcoming action thriller Baby John is not a remake of the filmmaker’s Tamil hit Theri.
Varun said that the film deviates in terms of storyline and structure.Baby John, but rather an adaptation. The movie, which revolves around a police officer and single father, stars Dhawan in the lead role alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff as the antagonist Babbar Sher.
Speaking during a promotional discussion, Dhawan explained the creative choices behind adapting the film. “When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film,” he stated., it deviates significantly in terms of storyline and structure. “We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that’s what’s done.
Addressing fans’ expectations, Dhawan remarked, “If someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that’s not what the film is.
