ISLAMABAD: Pakistan ranks 198th globally in internet speed rankings, according to a report by the World Population Review.
On the global front, the United Arab Emirates leads in both mobile and broadband internet speeds, followed by Singapore for mobile internet and Qatar for broadband. Hong Kong and Chile are ranked third and fourth, respectively, for mobile internet speed. Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association , has expressed confidence that the ongoing internet speed issues will likely be resolved within the next three months, despite concerns that the implementation of a firewall may affect connectivity. He explained, “If a message is being sent via WhatsApp but images aren’t transmitting, it could be an indication that monitoring is taking place.
